Starting from the 18th of February the new exhibition “Radio waves over Latvia” is open for public in Bauska Motor Museum The exhibition displays dozens of unique, mainly in VEF manufactured radios from the 1920s till 1990s.
In the middle of the last century nearly all families owned a radio. All the latest events – news, information, and announcements were communicated through the radio. In many homes it became a tradition to gather around the radio and listen to the latest broadcasts. Although nowadays the radio has tough competition like television and internet, the radio is still widely used. Besides, nowadays we can use different devices like telephones and internet to listen to radio.
The exhibition is our heritage. With this exhibition we can comprehend the greatness of the radio in history.
