A period of vigorous development in the automotive technology, from excitement to innovations.
Up until the 30s about 35 million vehicles had already been produced globally, but the turbulent development of the car business was brutally altered by the 1929 global economic crisis, the Great Depression; only the exceptional manufacturer managed to survive, largely due to the timely adoption of strategic decisions. Therefore, one of the central tales of the 1930s vehicle collection discloses the creation of the Auto Union Group, which visitors might recognize better by its well-known four ring brand sign.
With the renewal of economic recovery, the automotive industry experienced a revolution in technology and design, completely dropping its coach era heritage. The car body substantially changed and began to acquire aerodynamic shapes, beginning to correspond to the modern car. There was a growing demand for specialized design of custom-made car bodies. During this time wonderful cars were created, samples of which can also be viewed in the museum exposition.
A notable portion of this collection is dedicated to the automobiles of well-known people from the 1930s. One of these is the Cadillac Fleetwood All-Weather Phaeton, which was driven by the Latvian President and Prime Minister Kārlis Ulmanis.
